Watch as the Salvage Store's own Chris McDowell teaches how to create your own rainwater catchment system in order to preserve water and save on utility bills. Its a simple process and with so much rain these days in the late afternoon (with more to come!) it doesn't make sense for all that healthy rainwater to go to waste!

  • Poor reporter. What a waste of her time and anyone else who watched this video in disbelief. Please do not waste your time building this contraption. It will easily over flow in a heavy and possibly light rain. If you live in the Mojave Desert please go ahead and use the jug. To see how a real rain harvesting system should work visit ErrandBoys org and look in their water garden section.

  • Eggs? wouldn't the Mesquitoe eggs seep through one of holes in the net due to it's size and the bugs will hatch inside the jug?

  • A 5 gallon jug is an awfully small system! Most of us who take rainwater collection seriously are using multiple 55 gallon barrels.
