http://illdoctrine.com/jsmooth995This started out as a brief mini-video, and somehow turned into an endless obsessive rant about the minutiae of the Polanski case. This video has no entertainment value, unless you enjoy hearing "let's be clear" over and over.related links on my blog, http://illdoctrine.com

  • Thanks so much for posting this, Jay. I didn't know the details of the case, but the facts you present (she was saying no and asking him to stop, he had 30 years of opportunity to clear up the matter without jail time, she won a civil suit and he still hasn't paid her the damages) makes it clear to me that he is a FUCKING RAPIST.

I can even begin to tell you how refreshing and rare it is to find a man who likes hip-hop who still respects women and gays.

  • Disclaimer: I apologize for the following rant....

Roman Polanski is an absolutely disgusting, vile, unrepentant PEDOPHILE and the fact that famous people like Whoopi Goldberg who say that it wasn't "rape-rape" proves celebrities need to be seen and not heard. I CANNOT BELIEVE that he has gotten away with RAPING A CHILD. What else is there to say? He. Raped. A. Child. How can ANYONE defend him?!?!

Remember this Polanski: you can't run away from pits of Hell to Switzerland.

  • If we take a close look at American history with respect to "stars" we find a long list of creepy adult behavior towards children. What I find strange is how the media picks and chooses who is going to be called a pedophile. Lord knows many very ill people have been worshiped and continue to be worshiped. Justice has never been justice, and it is a mistake to think it ever was.

  • this has nothing to do with the video (even though i completely agree) but is it me or does he sound like a more eloquent version of bill cosby

  • Hear Roman's Revenge: Interview with a Pimp..by searching: "Pimp C & CedRock Starr" It's American :)

  • Also the "let of the hook" people: pressuring people to agree with you with "oh would you allow him to do that to your daughter" is low. I bet someone in another country think you should be castrated because you broke some religious law. You people just want to feel righteous and want to punish, hold the axe yourself - people are ugly - pointing fingers to some blown out of proportion, obscure case is just a sad way that we, as humanity use to hide our own ugliness. I don't dig this shit at all.

  • The same stuff has been going on in hollywood since it's inception and not many people scream about taking to prison those old people that did something decades ago. Nobody is spitting on Charlie Chaplins grave for instance.

Why should anybody trust US that they will be treated as promised? You think if Julian Assange came to the US he would see anything outside guantanamo bay?

Where does the US citizens moral right come from to judge anybody in the world on the principles of USA law?

  • Well said. I don't care how great movies you've made. You are not above the law. You don't get to rape little girls and get away with it scot free just because you used to be a great director and you survived the WWII.

It makes me sick to see how many celebrities, some of them even intelligent and usually reasonable people that I admire side with him.

This is another case of people seeing things in black and white: 'But HE'S such a great film maker, he just CAN'T be sent to prison!'.

  • Does anyone know where I can find a list of people who signed the pro-Polanski petition? I've looked for one but haven't found it.

  • You see the same thing in the sports world and the business world all the time. This isn't about Polanski being a "survivor" or a "victim." He entertains us. That's all there is to it. We - by which I mean our society - don't want him to go away because we get something positive from him. Once that's established, the rest is just neutralization.

  • this is all true, but you are forgetting the fact that ... he is such a great movie maker, and he survive the varsow ghetto and shoa... he has a free pass...

it makes me sick to hear arguments such as that one especially in france where everybody on tv is defending him... it's kind of like a terrorist or a martyr getting free virgins in the after life... well he is a martyr he gets his now!!! I sruvived the war in bosnia do you think I could get me a 13 year old?

  • This case is really quite simple.

A guy raped an underage girl in a pretty fucked up way (and that's saying something concidering that raping an underage girl is already HELLA fucked up).

Then this guy realized that he might be sent to jail where he feared (rightfully so) that he would be subjected to.....well, basically what he subjected her too.

And THEN when this cheeky fuck finally was caught, a bunch of people thought he should totally get a free pass on this because he made some movies.
