An eastbound Conrail somerset coal train passes by my dad's camera at the Bayview Road crossing in Hamburg, NY during October of 1991.
Note the historic BV interlocking tower - it was a relic of the New York Central railroad and was a Western New York railroad landmark until its demolition by Conrail in 1995.
Brings me back such good memories! I lived just up Linden Ave until1972 when my parents and I left for Portugal; I was only 10 years old and never had a problem to go over the track to be with my friends just on this side of them and yes I do remember that tower very well! 3 NYC lines plus another 2 just to the left , Nickle Plate and Penn Central (can't be certain about this last one).
Maybe the Eckerts still remeber that, too!
