AIDS 2012 U.S. Co-Chair Diane Havlir, Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, says the world now has some of the tools it takes to begin to end AIDS, but high-level political commitment, an economic framework, more community involvement and investment in research are needed to reduce the number of HIV infections. She discusses how to move forward on implementation science and research into a cure and vaccines. "If we put our will and resources into it, we can begin to end AIDS."
