Brecker's sax is still the sound of the SNL band to me, some 28 years later.

I don't think it was, but was any of Brecker's playing written? I've watched this video a ton and have wondered what was on the stand in front of him because it looks like he refers to it quite a bit.

Never heard this before - it really is amazing :) could listen all night... but why are they playing in gazebos? I mean it's cool but... odd? Music and performances are out of this world :) But the stage is in a tent of its own...

If nothing else, check out Michael Brecker's solo at 2:17. This guy is one of the few truly transcendental musicians of the 20th century. And of course, Gadd and Stern are bad ass as always.

I've been listening to Michael play for over 30 years & he still never ceases to strike me with jaw dropping awe inspiring amazement everytime I hear him play on something like this...what a phenomenal talent this man was!! Michael, thank you for everything you've given all of us...miss you bud....
