watch out for these buggers selling magical dancing paper dolls. it's a hoax! they don't move to the music, it's really a string holding the dolls upright. go ahead and buy one for the novelty of it haha, but remember to bargain it down from 2 euros to like 20 cents or sth.

  • Just to add on below comment. The magnet on the main body is not actually necessary, which is probably the case in this video, since the foot magnets can provide the bounce and also the weight to stop it from being blown away whilst suspended on the line. The legs are cut in such a way that the bouncing magnets coz them to appear as if they are bending. Also notice how the dolls stick together and almost get intangled at 0:23 or 0:24 and also look at the legs. Its a gd trick.

  • thanks for the explanation btw! sorry for the wayyyy overdue reply haha. i saw another guy selling these in japan btw and those ones were incredible (or rather, i have no idea how he pulled it off) cause they did flips!

  • There's two things possible: magnets and strings. I think it's the latter.

But if you get some loops, well THAT is worth it then.

Did you find a hook at the back?

  • yeah there's some lame paper "hook". it's more like a stuck on flap... lol

  • HEY! I bought one of those in Florence on the Ponte Vecchio, a bridge... Damn is it true it's a scam? A group of caucasians also bought it too. Can some one make a video of the motor to prove it.

  • it's TOTALLY a scam. i mean you get the doll. but at a rip-off price. they cheat your feelings lol. i'd like to see how they pull off their tricks too. cause this guy's pretty lousy at it, but there are other road hawkers like in japan who really make it look like there's no string, plus they do more than just sway from side to side.

  • @shadowvinz my grandma used to make these dancing paper dolls,..it's really freaky!!

  • funny how they always use a casette player and that the dolls are always in between that and a bag to the other side. otherwise they cant be attached to the vibrating fishing string LOL

  • lol I went to Florence and I fell for this haha, I bought 1 for 1 euro...dumb me, though I had a vague feeling in the back of my mind that this was impossible. LOL oh well, at least it's a souvenir from Italy =P

  • mine came with instructions on how to use it... terrible translation, but it does tell you, you need thread.

  • Ah man! I bought 2 for 5 Euros - not worth it :(

Does anyone know how i can get it to work?

  • THESE THINGS WORK! and i bought 2. there is a string at the top of it's head (DUH, how else does it stand???) and you attatch the thread to your finger, through the head, to a chair. put it up to the radio, and badda bing badda boom! you're in businessss

  • he said bargain it down FROM 2 euros
