Lost Trust by Kayzon Kays (Zambian Music 2011).

"Lost Trust" is a song about lack of genuine Press Freedom in Zambia. The message in the song highlights the failure by the State Media to play a watchdog role over the Executive Wing of Government and the failure by the Public-Owned Media to make public officials account for rampant theft and misuse of public funds. It is apparent in 2011 that the State media in Zambia is re-instating the oppressive political culture that existed during the One Party State era where The Times Of Zambia, Daily Mail and Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) act as a cheerleaders for the Ruling Party with their biased/partisan reporting and coverage of what are meant to be national issues. It is believed that poverty is widespread in Zambia because Government Officials are not made to account for misuse or theft of public funds meant for improving social services such as schools, hospitals and roads.
