Could be a screen-saver virus I think.. Not sure though if Kindles can get viruses or not..

Dude, my Kindle is 6 months old and today, when I woke it up, the screen was kind of cut, with a big part frozen. The biggest problem is that I bought in US, and I live in Brazil. I miss it :/

ill try to open it up.. iguess.. using the vid on utube

Yeah, its a pretty common issue with Kindle. I had the same thing happen and there was no impact whatsoever. Amazon clearly aknowledges that this in a problem and are pretty good about a clean exchange within the first year after purchase.

@Kristii1407 Yes, that's all I did, but I should mention I used the adapter, instead of the laptop. The adapter seems to charge faster than plugging into the laptop, and the last few times I plugged into the laptop, the battery hasn't given me near the life vs. plugging into the adapter.
Which is weird because the adapter provides less power than a USB port on any computer.

@TheAtomicAss I recently just had this happen like a couple hours ago and I don't know what to do. It's plugged into my laptop right now and I'll get it out when the light turns green like you did. Is that all you did?

@lover0not0hater Not sure if they are still sending out these models or not, since the new kindles came out awhile ago. If you have the same problem as I did, just explain to them that it just stopped working all of a sudden. Hopefully they can help you out!

called amazon.. and iʻm getting one in the mail.. told them i was moving so they changed my two day shipping to one day.. they are nice about it.. but i can see why.. it is an extremely common problem.. i planned on using my kindle for college books.. but iʻm starting to think twice about it.. what if it fails on me again.. whatʻs going to happen to the very expensive books i purchased?

@xanuheax Even if the Kindle does break again (hopefully it doesn't) you can view the books on either an iDevice, I think Android, or even on the computer. There is a desktop Kindle App you can download. Basically, you never lose the books you buy because they will always be with your account. It's just how you view the books, whether by Kindle, phone, iPad, or PC.

That is NOT frozen. That is DAMAGED! That is from an impact. Protect your Kindle with a cover. Put the blame where it belongs, Yeah, it's kind of fragile, but it's not THAT fragile.

@blondgirl522 I'm pretty sure I mentioned that I had the Kindle in a protective case in the video. And it was sitting in a drawer for like a month and when we got it out, it looked like this.
