Taxandria (introduction of the city Taxandria)

Raoul Servais' Taxandria (1994)with Dutch subtitles.


A young prince is taken for tuition at a seaside hotel but there quickly bores and wanders off to visit a nearby lighthouse. Befriended by the keeper, he learns of a secret world he can see inside the light of the lamp - the world of Taxandria ruled by the dictatorship of the 'eternal present' where all machines, progress and time have been banned.

Taxandria was filmed in budapest in 1989 and when it eventually went into post production in 1993/4 it was too late for Elliott .

Thank you for the information. I thought it must be the voice of another actor but was never quite sure. It certainly didn't sound like the Elliott I knew from Paperhouse. I know he's a little older in Taxandria but the dubbed voice seems flat and lacking in feeling. I'm sure Elliott's voice would have imparted far more emotion and sensitivity. I can't understand why they didn't use it. At least we have the images to treasure.

Please see my posting on imdb. I am Elliott's mother. He died on January 1994 before the release of Taxandria. The voice is that of another actor.
