@zoot2233 Roger saw George playing the Rckenbacker in
the first Beatles' movie, then went and got one soon after. "If
I Needed Someone" was written and recorded later on;
(didn't George send Roger an acetate of "Needed Someone"
as a gift after the Beatles had recorded it?)

@zoot2233 Yes, McGuinn saw Harrison's 12 string on Hard Day's Night back in 64 and was inspired to play one himself. But George was inspired by Bells of Rhymney in mid 65 to write this song.
