I agree, partly. True, the bling, "gangsta" elements are annoying, but hip hop is not going to die. What people portray as hip hop now is not hip hop. It's pop music. Hip hop is a way of life. Music is one element of hip hop. I do agree with you though, it is out of control today.

Hey man, no offense at the "British" remark, but its a well known fact that the Brits take their music more seriously (ask me why, and I'll tell ya) and that Timbalands whole style was a failed attempt to make Drum'n'Bass...I kid you not, I read the whole thang, man. funny that you ask tho, cuz i just read an article/interview by Portishead (the single handedly inventers of TripHop) saying about how american music is dying, hiphop especially.

they even said how Timbaland took a trip to the UK to try and find and produce a coldplay-like music group, but they all told him to fuck off because of how wack and unimaginitave his music is.
