a very crude and improper demonstration of Tanpura playing....
the player seems to have neglected one very basic requirement of Tanpura playing i.e. the nails of all your fingers need to be cut....you should not have protruding nails or else they make an undesirable contact with the tanpura strings generating a discordant and unpleasant sound.
secondly, the placement of hand should be upright, that means the fingers should be almost parallel to the tanpura strings and not perpendicular.
