Lelam-Soman dialogue

This was Soman's last film and the role was widely remembered . In particular a scene where he confronts his enemy in front of the Bishop is regarded as a masterpiece. His dialogue starting with "Nera Thirumeni, Eappachan pallikkoodathil poyittilla.." - "It's true Your Holiness, Eappachen has never been to school" is famous. This movie was dubbed in Tamil as Yelam in the next year.
The story starts with Anakkattil Chackochi (Suresh Gopi) arranging a smuggling deal with a Tamil spirit dealer for funding a dowry payment for his friend, Chembanal Sunny's sister. The deal sparks of an argument between the two until the Tamil dealer realises him as the son of Anakkattil Eappachen who is a longtime friend. After finalizing the deal they head of to Kerala with the tanker truck when they are caught at a police check post. Anakkattil Chackochi then faces the tough police officer, John Maruthanayakam only to find they are friends from the Army. The story then revolves to take a turn showing the feud between Anakkattil Eappachen and his enemies, the Kadyadi siblings - Raghavan, Baby & Thampi and Kunnel Mathachen (Azeez) and his sons who want him dead as he is capturing the their business. After a verbal confrontation with his foes in which he humiliates the enemies Anakkattil Eappachen is stabbed to death from behind by Kadyadi Baby. The rest of the movie recounts the revenge by Chakochi combined with betrayal, action and mind blowing dialogues. Actress Nandini plays the love interest of Chackochi as Gouri who is an IAS officer and also of royal lineage. Hussain played by Siddique is Chackochi accomplice and best friend. Towards the end, the aspiring politician, Chembanal Sunny betrays his friend, yet Chackochi becomes the champion.

ഹ്.! നിന്‍റപ്പനല്ലടാ. അപ്പന്‍റപ്പന്‍ കൂട്ടികൊടുത്ത കഥയാ ഞാനീപറയുന്നത്. നില്ല് പിതാവേ,തിരുമേനി എന്നതാടാ രണ്ടാമത് ഇംഗ്ലീഷില്‍ പറഞ്ഞേ?എന്നതാ? ഫ്ഹ! പോസ്ക്കണല്ലടാ. സ്പോക്കണ്‍. ഔട്ട് സ്പോക്കണ്‍. ആ, അത് തന്നെ. അതിന്‍റെ കുറവ് ഈപ്പന്‍ സഹിച്ചോളാം. കേട്ടോ തിരുമേനി, കര്‍ത്താവിന്‍റെ കാര്യത്തിലുമതേ, കള്ളി കച്ചവടത്തിലുമതേ. എനിക്കൊരു മെത്രാനച്ചന്‍റേം എടനില വേണ്ടാ.മനസ്സില്‍ വെച്ചൊ തിരുമേനി. i'm outspoken. വാടാ.!!

ഹ! കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. ഇനിയുമുണ്ട് കുടുംബ പാരമ്പര്യം. കേട്ടോ തിരുമേനി. എന്‍റെ അപ്പന്‍ സായിപ്പിനെ കൊന്നിട്ട് കഴുകുമരത്തേല്‍ കേറുന്ന കാലത്ത് ദേ, ഈ നിക്കുന്ന കുന്നേമത്തച്ഛന്‍റെ അപ്പനും പെമ്പളക്കും, ഭ്രണ്ണം സായിപ്പിന്‍റെ ബംഗ്ലാവിലാ പണി. പണീന്ന് വെച്ചാല് , സായിപ്പിനെ കുളിപ്പിക്കണം, പെടുപ്പിക്കണം, കെടക്ക കൊടഞ്ഞ് വിരിച്ച് കെടത്തണം, പിന്നേ....ഛീ !! മിണ്ടിപ്പോകരുത്. തിരുമേനി കണ്ടുകാണും. ഇവന്‍റെ താഴെ ഉള്ളതുങ്ങളുണ്ടല്ലൊ. കൂടെപ്പിറപ്പുകള് . നാലിന്‍റേം തൊലി വെളുവേളാന്നാ.പിന്നെ പൂച്ചേടെ ജാതി കണ്ണും.ജനുസ്സിന്‍റെ കൊണം.

ആ, പിന്നെ കള്ള് വിറ്റ് പിച്ചക്കാരെ തീറ്റുന്ന കാര്യം. അതുമൊരു കഥയാ. പതിനൊന്നാമത്തെ വയസ്സില്‍ അപ്പന്‍ കിടക്കുന്നതിന്‍റെ ഇടത് ഭാഗത്ത് അമ്മച്ചിയേയും കൂടി കുഴിച്ച് മൂടിയിട്ട് മീനച്ചിലാറ് നീന്തിക്കയറി കാട്ടിലു കള്ള കാച്ച് തുടങ്ങുമ്പോ, ഇന്നത്തെ ഈ മദ്യ രാജാവിനു ചക്കരേം കൊടും കുഴലും വാങ്ങാനുള്ള കാശ് തന്നത്, പള്ളീം പട്ടക്കാരുമൊന്നല്ല, അങ്ങാടീല്‍ തെണ്ടിപ്പെറുക്കി നടന്നൊരു തള്ളയാ. ഒരു മുഴുഭ്രാന്തി. അതിന്‍റെ സ്മരണയിലാ പിതാവേ, എന്‍റെ വീട്ടിന്‍റെ മുറ്റത്ത് ഇപ്പോഴും അന്നദാനം.

അന്യം വെയര്‍ക്കുന്ന കാശ് കൊണ്ട് അപ്പം തിന്നും വീഞ്ഞും കുടിച്ച് കോണ്ടാസേയിലും ബെന്‍സിലും കേറി നടക്കുന്നവരുടെ പളപളാ കുപ്പായത്തോട് അന്ന് തീര്‍ന്നതാ തിരുമേനി ഈ ബഹുമാനം. ഇപ്പൊ എനിക്കതിനോട് തിരുമേനി ഇംഗ്ലീഷില്‍ പറഞ്ഞ സാധനമാ. എന്നതാടാ, നീ തലകുലിക്കിയല്ലൊ? ഇറവ? ഇറവറന്‍സ്.!ബഹുമാനക്കുറവ് .ശരിയാ പിതാവേ.

പനം പായേല്‍ പൊതിഞ്ഞുകെട്ടി മൂന്നാം പക്കം എന്‍റ അപ്പനിയീ പള്ളിമുറ്റത്തകൊണ്ടെറക്കുമ്പോ എന്‍റെ കണ്ണിന്റ്റെ മുന്നില്‍ ഇപ്പോഴും നുഴറ്റുവാ തിരുമേനി. ദാണ്ടെ, ഈ നീളത്തിലുള്ള കൃമികള് അപ്പന്‍റെ മൂക്കീന്നും വായീന്നും. അന്ന് മൂക്ക് പൊത്തികൊണ്ടാ ഇത് പോലത്തെ കുപ്പായമിട്ട തിരുമേനിമാര് അപ്പന്‍റെ ശവത്തിനിട്ടാട്ടിയത് എടുത്ത് തെമ്മാടികുഴീല്‍ കൊണ്ട് തള്ളിക്കോളാന്‍.

നേരാ തിരുമേനി. ഈപച്ചന്‍ പള്ളിക്കുടത്തില്‍ പോയിട്ടില്ല. മരം വെട്ടുകാരനായിരുന്നു എന്‍റെ അപ്പന്‍. കണ്മുന്നില്‍ വെച്ച് അമ്മച്ചിയെ കടന്ന് പിടിച്ച റൈഞ്ചര്‍ സായിപ്പിനെ ഒറ്റ വെട്ടിനു രണ്ട് തുണ്ടാക്കീട്ട് അപ്പന്‍ ജയിലീ കേറുമ്പോ എനിക്കൊമ്പത് വയസ്സ്. കഴുമരത്തേന്ന് അപ്പന്‍റെ ശവമെറക്കി ദാ ഇങ്ങനെ കയ്യിലോട്ട് വാങ്ങിക്കുമ്പൊ അന്നെന്‍റെ പത്താമത്തെ പെറന്നാളാ.
