From 1935 here is Ginger Rogers, singing "Don't Mention Love to Me", composed by Oscar Levant & Dorothy Fields, and featured in the RKO Radio Picture "In Person". The Record is a 1935 Decca, and the Victrola is a 1925 two door Credenza.

  • Just curious ... is that Decca "safe" to play on an Orthophonic Victrola? I thought they were made for the newer electrical phonographs with lighter tonearms.

  • @kraftpr Sure, keep in mind that this is still in the depression era, when many many folks were still using their Acoustic Phonographs with steel needles. Sure there were some folks who owned a newer electric phonographs, but those electric phonographs still used a steel needle and many had a heavy electric pickup placed on the record.
