A Little Russian Circus was written by Anthony DiLorenzo. DiLorenzo is an Emmy-award winning composer whose works have been performed by numerous symphony orchestras and chamber groups around the world. You can also hear his music weekly on ABC's College Football, Ice Scating and Horse Racing, and in countless cues and cmpaigns for ESPN, HBO, FOX and NBC, and on more than 80 film trailers from Toy Story to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
A Little Russian Circus was commissioned by the Burning River Brass, and was recorded for their album "Russian Carnival." It is comprised of four movements: the first, "Tent of Terror" is a wild ride through a gruesome sort of fun-house; the second, "Nicolai the Magnificent" who seems (to us, at least) to be something of a drunken high-wire act; third is "The Clown", who mixes tragedy and comedy, as perhaps all great clowns do; fourth is "Rings of Fire", a death-defying daredevil act if ever there was one!
