@bullyjohnson -- If Audacity isn't recognizing the microphone, there may be other issues going on. It's likely that the microphone is just not working with Windows or any other program due to an incompatibility of some kind. I'd recommend getting a USB connected headset. That generally helps ensure compatibility with Windows and eliminates concerns about what audio level you are getting from your microphone.
