Results from the first round of the ballot, which is being spread out over six weeks, are expected on Thursday.
Muslim Brotherhood is hoping for a strong parliamentary presence to take on the authority of ruling army generals.
Violence broke out in Cairo's Tahrir Square when polls closed on Tuesday, with protesters calling on the military to step aside immediately.

@Drooblemeister I quite agree with u . But I heard the final election results would only be known only in January next yr. If they really win, I hope they will really improve the Eypgtians' livelihood and the country, but i think it will be an uphill task. May good luck bestow on Eygpt and the rest of the world!

It's quite ironic that Egypt, a country that sought greater individual rights and freedom from the government is using their temporary freedom to put a party in power that will now use their political authority to suppress and control women, to abuse religious minorities (aka Christians) and to make it illegal to question the religious code which everyone will now adhere to.. I'm sorry Egypt, I do hope the best for you in the future though, God bless Egypt!

this is a good thing becouse only allah is fare. muslim countries should adopt the sharia plus MBH will free palestian what more do we want. am crying as am writing this. i cant wait to pry in masjidul aqsaa all the way from the horn of africa
