  • I have to warn everyone never drip the ptex into scratches. A yellow flame means impurities and carbonisation. Put the ptex lower to the base so that it stays as a blue flame. May take a little practice to stop it in the perfect zone between yellow flame and going out.

And this isn't for cosmetics, all that carbonisation prevents the ptex from biding with the base properly and the repair may come out or not bind at all.

And yes, I am a qualified ski and snowboard technician.

  • after you scrape you should clean the area where you want to fill in, with a citrus cleaner or base cleaner to get all the grit and dirt off, then allow to dry, also allowing it to drip with the yellow flame like he does gets carbon in the cracks and makes it harder to bond. best way is the get the p-tex as close to the board as possible and almost allowing it to flow not drip. make sure the flame is blue.

  • Thank you.

Just repaired my board according to your instructions. Surprisingly easy and quick.

My board's base is yellow and the only P-tex I had was clear/white; so you can still see the scratches through the P-Tex. Also, little specs of black stuff from the burning of the P-Tex are in the mix, too.

  • Does that wax come in diff colors for differnt colored boards

  • 240 we r here again

  • @benjixboy the yellow flame means that there's coal. the coal just flies up in the air with the black smoke....

so it doesn't have any effects on the ptex

  • are Hanukkah candles the right kind of candle?

  • @benjixboy good tip man and yea i always clean after initial scraping too

  • 3:40 :O GTFO!

  • 4:29 LOL!!!

  • I was trying to fill in a large crevice. The PTEX always seems to form a crack along the length of the crevice when cooling even though I keep trying to fill it in again and again. Why? Is it because my base is sintered? I heard sintered bases need some special tool.

  • 0:06 check the window, its his mom checkin that he has the rug covered
