@tobiainvernizzi I used the kit lens that the camera came with.. (EF-S 18-55mm IS lens). For colour correction, just an S curve ans that was all. It helps if you film in a "flat" picture style. I used Technicolor CineStyle - more into in description.

Yes, I'm over the moon about the video quality. I Love this camera - best bit of kit I have ever owned. The possibilities of this camera are endless (in my opinion).
Tips for a beginner (which I am as well), watch as many videos shot on Canon EOS cameras- not just the 550D, look at 7D, 60D, 600D etc. and force yourself to use manual settings, lower ISO when possible.
Technical tips: Shoot your video flat (I use the Tecnicolor CineStyle profile).
