  • Very enlightening....there probably won't be too many comments on this page.....this happens a lot among Samoan families.

    I just read Samoan Observer online....that a mother of 3 and 6 mos. pregnant, was beaten into a coma by her husband....she was only 23 yrs. old...

    Sia doesn't want to be like her mother, but she is already......she took the beating!

  • abuse is not a samoan legacy - and living in the western culture should not mean that it is encouraged. she is right to fight against it - but you cannot blame the samoan culture for violence, these are problems that many families face. in the samoan culture it is a brothers duty to protect and take care of his sister 'o le ioimata o le tama o lona tuafafine' .
