My short answer to the questions as to what ammo is best, or what ammo I buy for practice and carry.

My guess is that a lot of people who fret and fret over getting the magic bullet with the most extreme expansion are often the same ones who might be served better to focus on becoming more proficient with the firearm, and then at that point study the sacred scrolls of "bullet religion" dogma. :-)
That said, some Hollow Points actually DO perform better than others, of course. See Tnoutdoors9 videos for more in-depth information on common hollowpoint bullet performance. Even though the fine differences between bullet design don't rank as high with me as it does with some folks, it's kind of a "why not" issue. Apparently, the PDX1, the Gold Dot, the HST, etc. work pretty well, so one might as well carry something that seems to perform well in tests, all else being equal.

  • That looks like a Ruger SR22.....................Which i would assume is borrowed from TN?

  • @gshdrums, I'm IN Tennessee. It's a T&E gun from Ruger. Just got it earlier this week and have been enjoying it.

  • @rupert93r There is one bullet that is better than any other for defense. It is the one that went through the center of the bad guy's vital area.

  • I shoot federal mostly for my glocks. No issues with it. Have shot Winchester and Remington a lot. Federal at walmart is cheap and thus far good. Just my .02.

  • What I really like about your videos (other than the great shooting) is you are real and honest, a lot of shooters grasp on to one type of gun and to them all other guns are trash, but not you, thanks for all the great shooting videos, most of us really appreciate them very much.

  • Oh Hi!

  • Quality vid, I agree barrat 50cal?

  • Great vid and great advise. Way to go Hickok!

  • Barrat 50 Cal?????

  • @bubba102893 They are Howard Leight brand

  • @sanjuancb. Agreed. Not worth saving a dollar and some change. I'll stick with Federal Brass FMJ for cheap reliable ammo.

  • @ladyfeind A small gun tends to be easier to jam because all the mechanism is now working with less space and tolerance. So, generally speaking a small gun like a Glock 30 will generally be less reliable with a wide variety of bullets compared to a Glock 21. The only way to know is to test, really.

  • @cause420 No to Tula period!
