On June 28, 2010, the Supreme Court decided the case of McDonald v. City of Chicago, in which it held that the 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms is incorporated against state and local governments through the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. In this video, Otis McDonald (petitioner) and Alan Gura (counsel for petitioner) discuss their historic victory.

I had the pleasure of witnessing the Court's remarkable 75-minute sitting on June 28. It was also Justice Stevens' last day on the bench. I shot this video outside on the Plaza shortly after the Court concluded its business for the 09-10 term.

  • @truckindawg1 This man was tired of the city. So am I. He is a true patriot!

  • Mr. Otis McDonald is by definition a true American hero for this . Thank you mr. McDonald for your truly patriotic stand! Also thank you Alan gura .

  • Unfortunately Chicago, in defiance of the ruling, is coming up with more bravo sierra. It would be better to arrest these "officials" on charges of treason (defying the Constitution), than have to sue yet again.
