Although Inuvialuit haven't made or lived in sod houses for many years, knowledge of those dwellings is still passed down through the generations. Listen to Inuvialuit anthropologist and educator Myrna Pokiak talk about how her ancestors built igluryuit - traditional sod houses - in this animation prepared by Professor Richard Levy, University of Calgary.

cool, I saw one of these when I was in Rankin Inlet, different design but same basic idea. I bet they would stay toasty warm with sod and snow as insulation.
