Part 2: Creating sampled loops in GarageBand

Are you a beginning to intermediate user of GarageBand?
Participation in this learning activity will introduce techniques to incorporate samples of songs you
like into your own projects.

You will create a sample for use in GarageBand(GB) remix projects by:
1. Identify a segment to sample from a song of your choice,
2. Split and remove segment from the song
3. Use a GB loop as a stencil to prepare sample for loop library, including synchronizing beats
4. Add sample to the Loop Library
5. Have some fun!

System Requirements:
Mac OSX (demonstration is on 10.6.5)
GarageBand '09 (techniques differ slightly with older version)
iTunes

GarageBand skills needed include:
Basic use of loops and split track tool. Familiarity with basic music theory is helpful, such as measures, counts, and rhythm.

emilydowlingtv, I'm sure I know exactly what you are asking but if you don't want the loop or track to be adjustable select the "One-shot" option in the "Add to Loop Library" box. I hope this helps.

when i change the tempo just like you did to a track or loop it changes the whole thing, how can i fix that?
