From http://LetThePeopleVoteCA.com:

I'm Anneka Scranton, and I'm fortunate enough to live in San Luis Obispo. I'm a volunteer with homeless services, with the shelter and with the day center here in the county.

And as you can imagine, we are really struggling at this point. We're seeing so many more families come in -- our neighbors, our friends. People who you wouldn't expect, professional families even. Families with kids.

We're providing shelter, safe beds when we have space, and we're providing laundry services and meals and services like Healthy Start and various kinds of welfare to work programs, and housing programs that they might be eligible for. Classes like ESL classes that they can learn English and have a chance to get a job again and get a better job hopefully again.

But it's hetting harder and harder and if we have even more dire cutbacks at the state level, it's going to be almost impossible. We're going to have such a difficult time moving families back into permanent housing. So I am pleading, and as a person of faith I am praying, for the state legislators to let the people vote.

I'm Anneka Scranton and I'm voting for homeless programs and for help for the working poor.
