  • How to make a rotation in an axis different than x, y or z, given coordinates of a vector?

  • @Smorphine Look up “rotation about an arbitrary axis” on the web, or better yet on page 180 of Michael E. Mortenson’s book Computer Graphics Handbook.

It is a bit too complicated to explain over a message here.

  • What is the advantage of this program over Blender, also free.

  • You can use Blender, too. I would not say one has an advantage over the other since they do not do the same thing.

Blender is a visual 3D design program, POVRay is a renderer.

  • Can POVRay render what has been created in Blender?

  • Not directly. You would need some software to translate Blender files to POVRay files. According to the Blender web site (YouTube does not allow links posted, unfortunately, it is in the features gallery) , Blender has export scripts available for external renderers, including POVRay.
