Marion du Faouët - born Marie-Louise Tromel in the Brittany region of France May 6, 1717 - was a "Robin Hood" legend. A female gang leader of the day, she was in 1747 banished from the region, whipped publicly, and branded on her left shoulder with the letter "V" ("voleur" is the French word for "thief"). That historical public event is depicted in this clip from the biographical film, "Marion du Faouët", which aired on French television in 1996.

@MrOphachew You're right - "partially naked" as in down to the waist is quite different from "naked", so I fixed that detail.
