  • This sounds like a good idea, but I have not tried it, so I don't know if it will work. The kiln wash will probably flake out of the low areas, because it is designed to do that. Nevertheless it is worth a try.

  • Well...it's now this weekend's project! I'll let you know how it turns out.

  • I've got some pits in my shelves now and the kiln wash has gotten uneven where I've applied additional coats to fill in spots removed by glaze drips. Can I use kiln wash to fill in the pitted areas, then use a belt sander to remove the bumps and old wash, and reapply kiln wash to the newly smooth shelves?

    If this works, I'll do a video of the process and post it!
