Basically I am sitting 10 feet up on top of the nose landing gear of one of the space shuttle carrier 747's to do a little trunion troubleshooting looking for a possible cause for a clunking sound in the gear... decided to bring my camera along (WARNING!! kinda boring..) Video by request.

  • Would be nice to have the "personnal space"/ room for this kind of TS. The baby boeings I work on would require me to hug the oleo as it was taxied around (I don't get paid enough for that :P ). Looks like a fun ride aswell.........maybe I'll have the opportunity to work on larger machines in the future.

  • Holy crap for a second i though they were going to take off with you in there! I'm a naviagtor on a 747 and I've been in those hidden compartments very fun!

  • This is one hell of a way to do some troubleshooting, I always use my pen when trousbleshooting any unusual noises.

  • "to do a little trunion troubleshooting looking for a possible cause for a clunking sound"

Oh no, the dreaded 'clunk' like one hears just before the CVR recording cuts off ...

Seriously, good luck finding it and have a safe flight.

  • Makes sense....

  • iv flown over that during flight training, its got the unicom on there too btw

  • Actually is "Pinal Airpark" and the ELEVation of the field.
