Italian News Special: 1980 Itavia DC-9 passenger jet missile shoot-down investigation, 1989

[Mostly in Italian] Macidull (US NTSB investigator, former Navy missile engineer) was first to focus on the possible destruction of an Itavia airliner (1980) by an air-to-air guided missile. His forensic analysis of radar returns and wreckage debris trajectories led to further conclusive findings of a missile firing and detonation. This court case of twenty-five years ended with his testimony as an expert witness from the US State Depatment at the final trial hearing in Rome (2005).
