Expectations certainly have a HUGE role in the way people/students (even animals) behave. I'm sure you read about the studies done with students & the Pygmalion Effect. Of course neither the students nor the teachers knew about the experiment, so it couldn't have been a placebo effect. A similar study was done with mice & researchers. The effect was clearly seen in the mice. The mice that were perceived as smarter, did much better than the other mice. BTW, very nice vid.
