This is an educational video describing the unique process of Hydraulic Fracturing used by the oil and gas industry today. Hydraulic Fracturing is a method used to extract natural gas trapped inside shale deposits stored deep underground using controlled explosives and high pressured liquid to create fractures allowing for the flow of natural gas to be pumped to the surface and processed.

  • @excriminal1 The fracing fluid is almost entirely water and sand, only 1% of the fluid contains solvents that help to clear up the pores. Fracing is not dangerous and it helps the surrounding people by giving them jobs and royalties. The dangerous chemicals are then pumped into sequestration wells under impermeable caps where it sits for millions of years. Fracing should be encouraged since it allows America to produce our own energy and creates real american jobs for folks.

  • Sounds great!

Until someone got the bright idea of replacing the water and sand mixture. Why put water down there when you can use it as an illegal dumping ground for chemicals. NYC has to haul their MTBE toxic waste to Tennessee and pay to have it trucked there and then pay again to have it dumped.

Someone decided to charge people to get rid of their toxic waste and it provides them with free fracking fluid I suspect.

  • you forgot to mention all the toxic chemicals that you pump into the fracking sites didnt you.. your forgot to mention how dangerous it is to the environment and the surrounding people in it didnt you.. and you also forgot to mention where all those dangerous chemicals end up didnt you.. fracking should be banned

  • @DHSNAKE Why would fracking "spread to the whole world"? It is a technique for extracting shale gas, which would only be found in certain places, and would only be considered if it were economically viable for extraction.

  • @39carmen about what?! that all life on earth might die if thi goes any further?!

  • @DHSNAKE then you have nothing to worry about

  • So if fracking is supposed to make my water catch fire then how come, even though we've been fracking in the San Juan Basin in New Mexico for years, my water is non-flammable and all of the crops we plant on our land which are irrigated by water supposedly poisoned still grow healthy and strong?

  • @DHSNAKE Technically speaking, seaweed gel, powdered pecan shells and ground soybean husks are 'chemicals' but if you've made your mind up to NOT leave the engineering to the engineers the facts never get in the way of good propaganda.

  • so many clever innovations

  • @970357ers A combination of crystal meth and lack of intelligence keep them healthy
