Fines aren't good enough. TAX THE RICH!

@knbagnall We have to choose 1 or the other - a free market or a democratic republic. They can't coexist because the "free market" capitalists will inevitably end up working to control the government to make even more money than they already have - which is where we're at today.
I'm more comfortable with a government that's accountable to the masses than some corporations that are only accountable to their shareholders, being in charge.

Haha oh wow, a stupid American who thinks it's possible to explain in 500 symbols. Where have I seen that before? Oh right, the post I responded to before. I repudiated his post more than trying to elaborate the opposite.

@underbjorn Yes, yes, yes, yet another repeated comment. If it were only that simple for simple minded people like you. Noble, nice try. I'm on your side but it is a bit more complicated than that. Economics degrees at my schools take 4 years, not 3 paragraphs, & even though my girlfriend honored & majored in econ, most Americans don't major in economics. Even my one class in upper division econ wasn't easy, even for the brainy nerds.

You didn't talk about the fact they also unlawfully terminated one of their internal investigators who discovered Koch management bribing authorities in 6 different countries. This wasn't just price fixing, they were selling lemons and making tens of millions off of it

You're not really getting my point. There's a balance that needs to be made between too much regulation and too little regulation. Too much and it discourages business. Too little and it leads to e.g. banking crises. Different industries require different levels. If I was in charge, you wouldn't need a license to cut hair. but you would need to comply with Glass-Steagall if you were a bank

That's fair enough. One of things I think about America is that it's enjoying the fruits of the WW2 generation, and that there's nothing being done now that the next generation will benefit from. On the contrary, as the republicans continue to successfully gut the government of all resources, they are actively destroying all the institutions that were put in place over the last 100 years. This will be to the detriment of America in the long term

Rofl, what? Nice to see Americans venting their anger on people who know so much more than them and their silly, flawed pathetic "education" in the most clownish attempts.

They are headed, that the banks may be in trouble in the future doesn't mean THE ECONOMY (Which is more than the commercial banks) isn't "doing well". Europe isn't heading anywhere you uneducated American, Europe is a continent of many countries, some of which have no worries about what happens to thoroughly corrupt Mediterrenean states.
I say the middle and lower classes join forces and show the koch brothers and the rest of the super rich companies that they need us more than we need tham
