@nbarile18 it's not correct that Russia hasn't enough missile defense; Moscow is well protected and it's hardly possible for an entry vehicle to penetrate the defense shield.

So even if some other locations in Russia will be wiped out, Moscow as the strategic command center will still be there.

@jijdom Yes, but we could then proceed to launch Minutemans while the RS-24 is in mid-air....and Russia has almost no missile defense so we'd both be toast.

And the U.S. still maintains the largest ballistic missile fleet with the Trident D2....with MIRV capability. The fact is that even if Russia wiped out all of our silos we'd still have a pretty pissed Navy.

This whole treaty thing is total bullshit. Russia's not disarming their nuclear arsenal; they're making new ones, for God's sake! How does making an ICBM designed to penetrate a missile defense shield go along with the spirit of lowering our arsenals? Russia is laughing at us while we fret over reducing our bombs and missiles and they build up theirs. How bout we screw the IRBM Treaty and put some nice medium range nukes right next to Russia. See how they like it.
