This test was performed in a controlled laboratory environment. Do not attempt this at home.

A sheet of SCHOTT ROBAX® glass ceramic has been placed on top of a burner with a sheet of tempered glass above it. Once both pieces of glass have been heated an ice cube is placed on them. The tempered glass will break from the stress of thermal shock, while the ROBAX® remains unharmed due to its coefficient of thermal expansion near zero.
