In The Mood (Jemi/Nelena Fan Fic) 41

Whooooo! How's everybody been? Sorry I basically disappeared and never came back. :P Let's see if I still remember how to do this.

Catch Me: Joe

She looked at me, her eyes sparkling. I couldn't tell if it was because she was cold and the wind was making her eyes water, or if she knew what was coming and was going to cry.
"I really don't know how else to say this so I'll just say it." I looked at her for reassurance, something I knew I wasn't going to get. "Uh ok then. Here it is..."
"We can't be together." She said, cutting me off.
"Yeah..." I sighed. "At least this proves we know each other well enough that you can predict what I want to say." I tried. I thought I saw a faint grin, or maybe her lips just twitched. "I don't even know how to explain how sorry I am."
"Don't be. You'll always be special to me, Joe." She said, bringing her gloved hand up to my cheek. I grabbed her hand and kissed it.
"And so will you." I promised her, looking away as I felt saw her eyes welling up with tears. "Dem, please don't. I won't be able to handle it." I begged her. She sniffed and nodded about to turn away, but I couldn't bring myself to let go of her hand. After a split second, I pulled her roughly into my arms and held her tightly against my chest, kissing her head, taking in her sweet smelling hair. "When the time is right, we can be together again." I promised, trying to convince her, and mostly myself, that it was possible for us to be together. There were just so many pressure in Hollywood. The press, the paparazzi, the fans, the expectations, the critiques, the values, the morals, the money, the fame, the spotlight, and mostly stress. It was something neither of us could handle and we knew it. I looked down at her once more, knowing this would most likely be the last time I'd get to hold her like this. As we pulled apart, I could have sworn I heard her whisper "Forever." I quickly turned around before she could see the tear slide down my cheek.
