I had gotten a '72 Polara from my grand father when I was 17. It was a former interceptor vehicle. The 440 that it had in it ran pretty well except for the lower compression of those years really put a damper on real horsepower. Overall though, it was a pretty nice running car.

@sirlordwhitman Clean pan and tranny use a block of wood and make sure pan is true and holes are flat, use mr gasket brush tack to affix gasket to pan, follow directions on can CAREFULLY!! tighten bolts in a criss cross pattern to twelve ft pounds, set wrench to fifteen to twenty and go around pan again one time no more!!!! Use a cork gasket, rubber compresses but doesnt always seal!! Hope this helps and be patient, do this and viola no more leak!!!! :D upgrade to electronic ignition its easy!!!

My first car too! It had a 383 and was trimmed exactly like Dave's from the top down, except it was Aqua. Such an awesome car!!

My first car was a 69 dodge polara, 440 police interceptor 83 thousand miles in 1986!! White with a blue vynil top it would outrun anything in town, the 2nd to 3rd shift was at 102 mph and kept pullin to a hundred thirty or so!!!! wow would love to have that one again!!!!

@curtknows101 really! I would love to have a 440 in mine. Still needs a lot of work anyway.. stupid transmission pan leaks no matter how many gaskets I throw on it. Busted engine mount and I can't find the right points for it either in any automotive store. Prolly will have to go EFI...
