@Hali67676 It depends on where you live and which accent and dialect of French you speak. Rolled Rs with the tongue are very common in French here in Canada. It is also common Créole French, Acadian French, and African French. Using your throat to make Rs sounds pretentious to French-Canadian ears, as it is more of a Parisian thing.

You're supposed to roll your Rs in French, not choke. He sounds more like he's speaking German.
