I still have this album . I first remember hearing it when I was about 3 yrs old. The dignity of Brahms ,sung by one of the most dignifyed wonderfull voices of the 20th centuary

This is going back in time. I remember singing this piece for the Marion Anderson 100th birthday concert and it was nothing short of beautiful.

Thank you again, jolicrasseux, for this great rendition of Marian Anderson's voice and art.. As I listen to and hum this, the choral parts are coming back to me - the bass parts, anyway, (I did this in the early '90's)although I'd have to buy the piece to sing it with the German again. Lovely! I never saw Marian Anderson in person, but that picture we have of her hanging in our bedroom is a daily reminder of this great diva who finally got a chance to sing at the Met.

not on the face??? ok i agree she certainly wasnt pretty but god blessed her with her voice and she used it to enable other black people to be able to sing.
