When i starting watching this movie i expected very little so i didn't have my hopes. I was so wrong!!! This movie is really good. It tackles a lot of issues has a really good storyline and is very touching. still didnt see the movie watch at BigOnlineMovies . c o m
I've got to see this movie. I always wondered if the Black Canadian experience is anything like it is in the USA. I've watched youtube videos of Black Canadian neighborhoods, but that's about it. I visited Vermont once, and there were Blacks in the neighborhood, but you never saw the Black teens getting arrested like you do in New York.
I don't know america, but dont judge the Irish in Halifax by this movie, as no one is that* Irish nor that racist or that enthusiastic in Halifax, lol. It's a americanized movie, I worked with an actor who was in it and he said the amount of problems people had with some of the scripting was fairly large. In all honesty it has to be viewed as "the problems inside boxing families" instead of "the problems of black vs white" to see any* unbiased messaging. lol
I never thought about the "americanization" angle. I've seen Canadian movies, and they seemed a bit more subdued than American characters. I've never lived in Canada so I wouldn't really understand the Canadian experience.
