  • I totally agree. In French, there is an expression: "une voix mieilleuse", a voice like honey, which Bardot had. The woman who dubbed her voice sounds like a lesbian from Brooklyn. No offence...

  • Fortunately I speak French, and the dubbing is... a f... mistake !

If you don't understand Voltaire's language, better use subtitles...

  • Man I'm still tripping off how that Guy slapped her like 5 times. I mean really was all that necessary.

  • A lovely woman who still communicates to us through her movies today............

  • This was the first Brigitte Bardot movie I saw, and while there's no denying that she made other great ones, AND GOD CREATED WOMAN is still the quintessential BB film for me.

  • This film was initially banned In my home state of Delaware. Brigitte's exposed butt was deemed pornographic in 1958 and a the Manager of the Edgemoor theater was threatened with jail and censure of the film if he showed it again. Luckly the censure was found unconstitutional and although the Manager could be jailed they could not stop the film from being shown.

  • @michel7773 A lesbian from Brooklyn...LOL!

  • @Trolltergeist

    Mystery of YT :-)

  • @Trolltergeist

Well, so all is said :-)

Personally I'm not sure it was only a myth...

ps I'm not sure it was only a myth...

  • @ifasmile I recently learned in a film class that this film was imported to the US in an era where the main reason why the US imported foreign films was for their sexual content. On the myth that Europe was more sexually liberal, US distributors spent more of their efforts advertising and highlighting the sexual themes of films (even if they weren't even that sexual to begin with). So unfortunately, while I wouldn't say the subs are intentionally bad, I would say that they were done carelessly.
