This Demonstration forest is located in Lyman, Maine. It is owned & maintained by the York County Soil & Water Conservation District. The property was aquired after the 1947 fires devastated the region. The old peach orchard & farm land was burned over. Over the last 60 years the Board of Supervisors, led by Sid Emery & Alden Gile, have spent countless hours managing the forest. We appluade their dedication. They are the 2008 MACD Conservation of the Year award recipients.
