Very cool art style, like something out of Da Vinci's notebook! Is this your own engine, or are you leveraging 3rd party tech?

@imorriso1 Thanks! The engine was designed from scratch by me, and we've been trying to go with a artistic, cell shaded and Da Vinci like art style. I'm glad you like it!

Very nice job. I have to admit, I'm interested to see where you go with this. I've checked your site, and if you get even half of what you're planning in I will be incredibly impressed. Seems almost too ambitious for such a small development team, but then, I'm not known for my sense of restraint myself. :)

Haha, I tend to make my projects over-ambitious as well. We actually decided to split Aero Empire into two games, as it was just too big to tackle all at once. The first game will cover the gunner, pilot, captain and commander stages (twitch combat with squads), and the second game will cover the general and admiral stages (nation and war management). You can read more about that in our 2010 progress update news on moddb. Hopefully, we'll release the first game in 2010 - look forward to it!
