Great little battle for second position between Jenson Button and Kimi Raikkonen at Melbourne in 2006. Button had scored a brilliant pole but was eaten alive by Alonso and Kimi at the start because he couldn't get any heat into his tyres.

  • Absolutey superb racing! This is what F1 doesn't have enough of. These two are, in my opinion, the best drivers in F1, Jenson just doesn't have a car to prove it yet.

  • Yeah those two know how to race closely but cleanly... you can see there's a great deal of respect between them. If it had been Montoya instead of Kimi, they'd have both ended up in the gravel with wheels missing.

  • I love the "I'll drive the fuck out of this car even if it takes you off the road" attitude Raikkonen has.

  • Omg I love the commentary

"And he's locked the brakes! Hes Gonna go wide surely! Jenson... oh no! how did Raikonen keep that on the road? But now Jenson can come back at him, He's gotta just keep it to the right hand side, burry it up the inside. Now! Right Now! Exactly! Perfect! Well Done! They're gonna touch! They'll get away with it! Montoya thinks he's gonna have a piece of the action, Raikonen says no way your not coming through there. Great stuff from Jenson, didn't quite work out" LOL!

  • this is real racing!! its a shame that today they would probably get a penalty for racing hard....

  • @jraybay HAH...Hamilton and Falonso are both overrated....

Kimi is the most talented F1 driver of recent years along with Kubica and Vettel....Button can be really great too, especially on conditions when the track is half wet-half dry, but sometimes he can have too many bad races in a row. And Nico, I dont think we havent seen his full potential yet, he needs a better car.

But if some drivers are overrated, they are Hamilton and Santander "This is ridicilous, tell Felipe im faster" Eyebrow.

  • I so hope we are going to see Kimi back in F1...if only for Williams driver, but who knows, maybe he could get to RedBull or Mercedes the year after...anyways this is what I want to see Kimi doing in the future, Kimi is one of the best F1 drivers, WRC is just not for him.

  • BBC commentary sucke....they always keep praising thr Brits....Jenson then and Lewis now.....Raikkonen overtook Button and he says "great stuff from jenson but it didn't work out"

  • @213HBK and this was happening when Rubens was fighting for victories in the second half of the season. But Jenson is still a very good driver, definitely not an F1 grea but a worthy WDC. Something like Keke Rosberg level.

  • I miss racing in F1. Tired of watching the tire managers championship. breakthroughs are fake because they depend on strategy, overtakes are fake because depend on DRS. The FIA could have said with the same success that "if the driver behind is within a second, slow down and let him pass on the main straight". DRS is nothing more than that. Absolutely idiotic.

  • kimi+michelin+mclaren great combination

  • Great battle. One great driver, one heavily underrated driver.

  • F1 should go back to this era. 2008 was the last of it. Now it's shit. Dumb ass adjustable rear wings. Might as well be Mario Kart
