@Whirrednerd I have sung many sacred pieces as a classically-trained vocalist; and yet I struggle with my faith (as I believe everyone does). I believe that it is entirely possible for anyone to appreciate and even to perform religious music solely on the merit of the emotional sentiments expressed in the beauty of the music and the lyrics without necessarily being a zealous believer in the underlying religious dogma of the specific faith associated with the music.

'So this man and woman are living together, and she goes out to tend to shopping while he tends to the kitchen. While preparing the homemade chips, he recalls the parable about the right hand. When the woman comes back, she is distraught at the site of this man. 'What?', he exclaims, following up with 'was it the food that offended?''
