The science of death.
This BBC documentary is about the scientific studies of after death experiences. What happens after the body has stopped living? What experiences does the dying go through? Can the brain live on after clinical death or is it something else? What do we know about Consciousness? New science research reveals some startling findings.

There are alot of dumbasses commenting on this video. This really proves the average IQ of ppl is so low they are not qualified to even process information/truth of metaphysical reality.
Those who don't believe in mind/soul are ignorant and blind to logic.

I can accept the chemical explanation for the tunnel of light and the good feelings. But what stands the most for me is how the brain supposedly creates this meaningful and orderly experiences at death. He is being deprived of oxygen, dying, but you don't get random hallucinations or lose your sense of awareness like if you were in a system malfunctioning, no, you get coherent situations in which your awareness is full. Coherent dreams are hard to come by, but NDEs always have them?!

@USAMehdi Thank you; I guess I'm also a bit confused vs. what the bible says about an immortal soul (Ecclesiastes states that the soul that it is sinning will die, in that day your thoughts do perish) basically that you are non-existent until God decides to resurrect you at the end of time..so having trouble with the conflicting views

Thanks for reply! There is this scientific/doctor who has been a Neurologist at Harvard University and been doing research on brain and nervous system for ~20 years, He died of a bad case of Meningitis & was dead for a while, somehow he was brought back to life. He said there is No way for the brain to make up these experiences, since he had his own. He was on Science Channel (I post the link on your profile page).
Those other so-called scientists lie and cover the truth, I know 4sure

@USAMehdi I tend to agree with the doctor's assessment though I would love to believe that we do indeed continue on after we die.

that woman at 7:00 is so full of rubbish the chemicals and neurons in brain do not make you see over your body or over the city or anywhere else. Many ppl who had died went some place else and witnessed a conversation & later said exactly what the ppl were talking about. This dead man saw this homeless person stealing the woman's purse, later when revived the police made positive id and got the purse back. 100 more examples of this so what the hell is she talking about? was she told to say this?

Miss Blackmore needs to have an NDE before she tries to explain it all away as she tries to do with anything she dosent understand or that falls outside of her narrow little paradigm of how she thinks things work. Science does not know everything and never has, especially her mainstream, black & white, one dimensional, tiny little indoctrinated view of reality. Get over yourself Miss Blackmore - you have no idea what dreams may come.

@49128: I agree, and I'd just like to add that even if there were hypothetically some kind of miniscule brain activity in the brain-stem that was too weak to detect through conventional means, it's still a piss-poor explanation for these experience during this time. To claim that coherent realer than real experiences, life reviews, accurate veridical perceptions, and memory formation can occur with low-level hidden brain-stem activity flies in the face of neuroscience.
