  • I remember this model doing an excellent job on work clothes and heavy overalls and then do royal on delicates just as well. It could get pretty hot...always wondered what temp it when up to...do you know? Maytag should give you royalties on these vids incidentally..LOL!

  • @mxylpx This Maytag does not regulate the hot temp setting. So whatever your hot water tank is set to, is what the machine gets.

  • do you mind helping me out, i bought one second hand and im not quite sure how to set the cycle and how it works, i lived in apartment buildings all my life and there were always instruction. i really would appreciate your help

    thanks

  • @ginaabdelmalak Well Just use the regular cycle. Set the main dial to your desired wash time, 8 to ten minutes is good for most loads. Them set your temps, I recommend hot wash for white and towels, warm for mixed colours, and cold for darks, with cold rinses for all, Then you set your water level from small to extra large depending on your load size, and there you go. Also leave the wash and spin speeds set to normal unless you have delicates. Hope this helps.

  • This is way better than "Alien VS Predator" !

  • Maytag washers and dryers made from 1972 to 1979 were the best machines ever made in america! If you see one on the side of the road you would be wise to pick it up and bring it home. They are very easy to work on, they seldom break down and they last forever!!!! I have 4 washers and 4 dryers from that era! A Lifetime supply!!!!! LOL

  • I love this video because it shows a great piece of machine engineering in action. I heard some of these washers had a timer for dispensing softener, bleach and dyeing or tinting sequences. I don't know if that is true or not.

  • This is one very "terrible" video. =p

  • @ulltra I agree....wish we would get back to making products we could be proud of for their efficiency and durability. This site is a great demonstration for any students of socio-economics and mechanical design.

  • Our 1989 model sounded exactly like this. It performed flawlessly for the 15 years we had it. Toward the end, we started seeing the occasional little black spots on are clothes from time to time. It was better than our 1975 Whirlpool machine before it which failed 3 times in it's 14 years. Wanting larger capacity & fearing the transmission seal may be going bad, we replaced it with a Neptune in 2005 that has already outperformed it's matching dryer, which needed new ignition coils last year.

  • @ulltra Actually, our 1989 set sounded identical to to this one, as well as my grandparents's 1970 model. Agitator and shapes of the cabinet and drum are the same between all 3. Only differences are color schemes and panel design. My grandparent's had the black agitator with the blue filter & cup with a white knob on the control panel. Ours had a brown control panel trimmed in chrome.

  • theres kind of a relaxing noise to this washer.. unlike my cheap enerGuide

  • This is so freaking relaxing! I just wish the video was longer.
