My 240d engine noise

Yet another video. Maybe the noise is better heard in this one. The engine is at full temp here and I just got finished driving for 20 minutes on the highway. Sounds like valve tick to me.

Its called diesel knock its normal but if deafens your ears then your crank timing is incorrect and your valve seals need replacing old engine.. As it is burning oil possibly due to a broken oil seals or broken valve which means too much air intake when igniting the fuel causing a loud noise.

Diesel knocks go after a they reach the normal operating temperature but initially cold start they are loud.

ı am living in turkey and my father has a mercedes benz part shop since 1985. so he had this motor :) our car was not original. in original it was 250se. but it was very good car :)

was it a taxi version? I heard that MB made a few 240Ds in a base model version, which was a shell basical, and was sold to taxi companys in Europe. I have not seen one yet...
