This video shows the footage of how I captured Penelope's head down behavior and put it on "sad face" verbal cue.

I did this on the fly, no notes, no timer. However, data-driven training is very important and I do much of it. (Thanks Helix!)

Also, as noted in first frames of this video, this was the first (and the last) time I turned my attention away from the working dog and onto the waiting dog. Why is this so important?

Because when working more than one animal where one is working the other is waiting, the one in the limelight needs to feel 100% secure that it is his time to shine. The animals waiting need to learn to *patiently* wait their turn so they are not offering behaviors (other than calmly and quietly waiting their turn) hoping the trainer will reinforce.

By keeping the roles clear (working or waiting) the animals' stress is lowered and his ability to think and learn is higher. In other words, better training which is what we all want.

Anyway, Penelope caught on *super* fast and we added the verbal cue no problem.

Hope you enjoy and find it useful. Thanks for watching!
