Awesome! Getting this guy for Christmas in a few short weeks and I'm excited as hell, seeing as this will be my first mando. Curious, did you modify the bridge yourself?

i am a kid10 -13, (dont want to specify age) and i am saving up for a mandolin. do suggest getting this one? i am thinking about getting a mandolin that is 49.99 on amazon that i think is this model. i hav like 5 bucks right now, lol. any suggestions?

I own the same instrument you do - and it DOES sound like that. Mine buzzes - especially when I pick the G or D string. Mine also "rings" like a sitar and I'm trying to invest in a "practice-grade" mandolin because I'm serious about learning. I think people should be warned about the Rogue A-styles before they buy. I use it for practice only until I have the winning bid for a Washburn or a Gibson.

@kemz1969 Just take it to a local 'professional' tech for a full setup. Might be around $50-$60, plus strings (easy to go through 1 or 2 sets, depending on adjustments). By 'professional' I mean they should know about slotting the bridge and removing excess wood, adjusting the nut slot height, check for a high fret, etc. Most stringed instruments, even brand new, could use a prof setup. Even a more expensive mando might have the same problems as your Rogue, unless properly adjusted.
